Karoonda Audio Tour

The Karoonda audio tour takes the traveller on a deep dive through the area with immersive podcast-style audio tours that play automatically as you near a site. Featuring hidden stories from celebrated local characters and renowned artists, travellers can take an adventure through local history and culture as they connect with this fascinating Murray Mallee region.

The audio tour is ideal to learn more about the inspiration of Karoonda’s award winning Silo Art, created by celebrated artist Heesco. “You can see this amazing landscape.. and especially the sunsets”, explains the featured Heesco. The day/night Silo Art is the first of its kind in Australia and features spectacular art projections which come alive at night. The Silos celebrate rural life and feature much loved pets, local kelpie Whisky and Diamond the sheep. Some say as you walk past Whisky’s eyes follow you.

Other highlight of the tour include Karoonda's Pioneer Park, the famous meteorite that hit Karoonda in 1930 and the local icon the Big Ram.
