Karoonda East Murray Centenary Quilt

One hundred years of the town’s heritage are depicted on the Karoonda East Murray Centenary Quilt. Sewn by local residents, with guidance from a textile artist, the quilt measures 2.4m by 1.25m.

Initiated by the Karoonda Quilters Group, this impressive work of art captures Karoonda’s story from 1911 to 2011 and was unveiled during the Karoonda East Murray Centenary Celebrations on 30 September 2011.

These talented quilters contributed over 3820 hours of their time to create this special installation.

The quilt can be viewed at the District Council of Karoonda East Murray’s office at 11 Railway Terrace, Karoonda during normal office hours.
